My leukemia's back.

Rachel, I hope the wiring project goes well and the problem is fixed today.

prayers from Louisiana. I know how aggravating wiring can be. moved in to my dad and moms 6 years ago after they passed away. My dad's favorite saying "It'll last my life time." No truer words, redid from meter base through out 3/4 house. Some of wires where taped with grey duck tape in ceiling. Dad knew better, just would rather use what he had on hand. and it lasted him his life time. Mommy had faith, just found out why she prayed so much when we started the wiring. pray really does hold things together. So hang in there. Maybe you needed a boost in patience. God sometimes has funny ways of teaching us things. I know this is testing ya'll's patience for sure. Would be mine.
My father in law would put things together with masking tape,

I would not have even attempted masking tape versus solder.

That's one of hubby's favorite sayings! However, when it comes to building, if a 2 x 4 will do the job, he'll use a 4 x 4 or a 2 x 6. He tends to overbuild when it comes to wood projects. My simple coop took us 10 weeks to complete. He did a great job... but 10 weeks!!!

Ken says he really can't tell without looking at it and metering and such. Could be wet or worn wiring, could be those mystery two wires you found earlier had something to do with it - he says with electrical issues where there's a lot of troubleshooting involved to isolate the problem and then work backward from there it's just too difficult to say. Sort of like calling the doctor and telling him your foot hurts....gotta find WHY your foot hurts in order to fix your foot, except in this case giving someone the wrong advice could result in more expense and/or an electrical fire. Sorry we weren't more help.
