In the summer months, I encourage those who have the equipment to easily do so to take care of #1 around the garden to discourage critters. Not quite as discreetly accomplished since we took down so many trees around the yard, but... still gets done! However, I had to discuss certain issues with my GS when I went out to shovel the deck a few weeks ago, and noticed that there was a yellow streak across the 6" of snow laying on top of the deck rail. A subtle reminder that the deck can now be seen from 3 directions, where it was fairly well hidden before!
