My leukemia's back.

I am new to BYC and just saw this post! I had to comment because my 8 year old daughter is a leukemia survivor. I will keep you in my prayers! I am so thankful to all who donate blood, platelets and bone marrow! Now that my daughter's immune system is getting strong again we can play in the dirt with chickens again! We were involved in our local 4H, but this is our first time owning our own chickens. My husband gave them to me as a surprise gift in celebration of the rough couple of years we have had as a family. I was so happy I was in tears! We now finally get to start our "mini farm" that we have always wanted to. My daughter loves animals so much. She never plays with dolls, just animals lol! She has named her favorite chicken "Athena" which is fitting because my daughter is a warrior for sure

to you and your husband. My thought all along was "I'm so glad it's me and not one of my kids". I just can't imagine what you went through.

My platelet donors were my heroes for sure. I needed matched donors, and lots of them. Wonderful people. And my stem cell donor, I can't say enough about him. Reminds me, I still need to look into contacting him. I was so busy at work I forgot.

spent time with the horses today, that was my exercise. I actually jogged, and I can't tell you the last time that happened

Morning, Phil and all the rest of you wonderful folks. 24* here this morning. I'm getting tired of this cold weather! Doesn't matter a whole lot, cause I'm working too many hours this week to be able to garden anyways. My fruit trees are all breaking dormancy. Hoping the cold doesn't damage the buds.

Seems as if these freezing and rain conditions are widespread...I am so cold that the only place I can be warm is undercover of my duvet...got the mattress heater on too...! I lit the log fire yesterday afternoon by 4.00 pm and my husband was complaining that it was hot...too hot for a fire...as he pointed out to me, he is working with my animals whereas I am not...OK got the hint...I did however burn some dinner for him and he ate it without protest

he did look like this though as he was eating!

Good luck to those of you who are trying to lose weight...if you experienced my cooking of food it would probably help you to lose more than you wanted...I get so easily distracted when preparing food...even the dogs will refuse to eat some of what my culinary skills provide!

I have another appointment tomorrow with the surgeon...hopefully that will be the last time he will need to look at my "zipped" foot...I am as yet undecided as to when to have the left foot operated on...I guess I will wait until the pain becomes unbearable...it seems to have taken ages for this right foot to get comfortable...still have a grotty mess where the scars are, despite slathering them with cream...I want to wear my wellies and get back out with the animals...I know I should not complain but I am so frustrated!

Raining here today, but all the chickies are doing fine. I'm going to have to bump my CL ad to get some of these littles sold, or start selling some of the chicks that are off the heat lamp. Only so much space

I'm so excited, I had my lung function test today and it's stable from December. Of course I'd love to have been improved, but I'm happy with stable. It means I can start tapering off my immune suppressants

. I'll just have to watch to see if the graft vs host flares up in any of the myriad places it's popped up before.

Work is good, I like being involved with people, and once a nurse always a nurse, so it's good to do that again. But I'll tell you, it sure cuts into my leisure time
