My leukemia's back.

@Suzie Wow! So glad you are ok. It's crazy, a lot of times as children we are allergic to things and sometimes we outgrow that allergy. Then other times we develop allergies when we are older that never bothered us before.:idunno. Here in the United States there is much controversy over the epipen. The maker of the drug raised the cost 500%. Highway robbery.

I've got exciting news! I got a call this past week. One of DD teachers (last year) lost most of his chickens to racoons. He told me after losing several, he waited out at the coop one weekend. He shot and killed 22 raccoons that weekend! I knew they were really bad around here, but had no idea they were that bad! Anyways, he asked if I had any hens I could spare. I said "How many do you want?" Today I am taking him 12 hens. I'm only charging him $7 each, because he's a friend. And I know my girls are getting a good home. It will be better for us too. Maybe I can get an accurate count this weekend! It's going to be hard to choose who goes. But I have a clear breeding plan for next spring, so, if they are not part of that plan, they can go.

Have a good day everyone! Suzie, rest up:D

Suzie, so glad to hear you are going to be ok. Keep that epipen handy and take care of yourself.

Rachel, I get where you're coming from...sometimes you just get tired of fighting.

Not sure what's going on with me today. Been feeling blue missing people that seem so far away. My dad and sister, gone from this earth...my sons so far away physically and emotionally. Sometimes it seems like the people I care most about are so far away. This too shall pass, right?

Here's to better days.
:hugs
I totally understand.
I don't much feel like living anymore.
It's day after day of the same old stuff...breathing issues, pain issues, no sleep....nothing to wake up to.
So yeah....I understand the feeling blue part.
Hopefully today something will happen that makes your day much brighter.
I hate it when no matter how bright the sun is it seems dark.

I don't want anyone to worry...I just understand feeling blue. And when you have health issues in the mix....it's just more complicated

Hope today is a brighter day for all. Sorry so many feel blue. Hubby calls me a blue fish.....does that count?

Been a busy weekend, but tomorrow starts a really busy week. So I am relaxing for a minute. Chicken sale went well. My girls ran around like they own the place. Last year we gave this same teacher A LOT of hatching eggs. Most didn't hatch because he didn't add water (at all), and the incubators were turned off without his knowledge to conserve energy on the weekends.

Anyways, when we got there to drop off the girls, there was the most gorgeous barred rock rooster. He looked like a show bird, like something you would see on the Greeenfire Farms website, just beautiful. I commented on him and teacher told me, "Well, he was the lone survivor. The only egg that hached". WHAT?!?!? He came from my stock? He is not a full blooded barred rock, and I have no idea who the daddy is......(Of his chicken, of course! :lau).

Hey, Phil.

Isn't it time for Sour to chime in with something about how growing old isn't for cowards?

Mom always said , "Getting old isn't for sissies", another favorite was, "I'd like to find that guy who coined the phrase, 'the golden years', and kick the crap out of him" Hope things are better today, Phil. Just completed 3 days of field trial at my club and my butt is dragging.

Hi! Well, much to my surprise (as I haven't been able to sit for a couple of hours outside at my friend's house), I think I have 3 roosters and 7 hens. So help me out by saying yes or no to these being roosters and which one is a bielefelder and which one is the crested cream leg bar:

And #2 which I didn't realize was different from #1! Thought they were the same bird until both appeared at the same time. Lol.

Sorry for the turned photo. Tried correcting it a few times to no avail. But you can get the idea. Besides, maybe, if Phil has to turn his screen a bit, something funny will happen?
So both males? Yes or no? And what breed?

Remember no matter what your feelings say,you are needed, loved and important to those around you.
