My leukemia's back.

Okay peeps I guess I'm now a full blown diabetic.
Today's appointment was an eye opener.
Gonna have to diet for real this time.
And the doctor told me he will set me up for a counsel to get allergy shots so I hopefully can deal with the dogs.
I told him my dogs are my kids now days. I also told him I really need to see someone about my depression.
So often these days I just don't feel it....... Breathing is good off and on. Hopefully this can chest cold will just go away....... Really got the steroid jitters at the moment.

I am so glad you spoke up about the depression, Phil. I hope that the shots give you some relief on the allergy front as you need those dogs in your life, I imagine they are helpful with some of the depression issues.

- just wish I could give you that for real!
Phil: Sorry for your news. But, along with the bad news comes a silver lining. There are far worse things than being a diabetic. Like being an undiagnosed diabetic! A lot of damage can be done by the not knowing, and not taking care of it. My Hubby has been a Type 1 atypical diabetic for 22 years. (due to surgical loss of pancreas) He's on an Insulin pump. And aside from having to keep track of his BS, he eats pretty much what he wants. Type II more often has greater diet restrictions. And sometimes a Type II can get back to normal BS simply through wt loss, diet, and exercise. All diabetics benefit greatly from proper nutrition and exercise (as do the rest of us) But, what I'm saying is: it's manageable. As for the depression, I'm glad you are following up on that as well You have enough physical issues without letting depression rob you even more. I wish you the best with that, and pray that you will get some really effective treatment without them yanking you around too much. Glad the breathing is getting better. Any Antibiotics in sight for you??? Hoping the allergy testing and shots work for you. Hang in my friend. Better day ahead.

The bolded is SO true, and an excellent point, LG!

Don't know why I couldn't quote this from OGM.....

Happy Friday - to those of you on a M-F sort of schedule, lol. I swear, between not finding a job yet and DH's wonky schedule the only reason I know what day it is is DS having started back to school.

So glad I'm not the only one! I'm always asking what day it is.....funny cause as a nurse, it was one of the questions I used to ask patients all the time to see if they were oriented or not. Now, I'd fail half the time

Thanks everyone..... I kinda expected it.
Will do a better job taking care of myself. But no antibiotics.... X rays were clear.... Simple viral bronchitis.
I guess just rest and time will get me back.......(I hope)

Good morning!

Rachel, I'm another one that always wonders what the day is...that happens when you work 7 days a week, lol. Guess we're both a bit disoriented

Been having a time with BYC. My messages no longer go to email.....where do they go.? I've checked Junk, Spam, all that??

@LittleLakePhil :hugs. Diabetes is something that runs like wildfire in my family. I am praying I don't get it. In the meantime, I too need to be more diligent about my diet and exercise. My dad has diabetes so bad he can do nothing. No walking, has to have people help him sit up. Can't even feed himself because he has neopathy in arms and legs. Just can't move at all. He weighs in at probably somewhere near 500 lbs and is my height (5'6"). He did not heed the warning when they told him in his 40s that he has it & to lose weight. Heed the warning Phil.

I will walk 2 extra days this week for you Phil! To ward off diabetes in myself & I'll try to eat better. Eating healthy is expensive. I don't care what anyone says. As far as depression goes, I understand. I'm no doctor, but if you need to vent PM me, or vent here.:D We all care about you.

@donrae. Baby calf :love :love . My daughter's name is Anna & I call her Annie. So I'm pretty partial to the name. Perfect name for a beautiful calf.

Came home Thursday from work, worked late. Went to coop to feed & lock up & had a 4 month old speckled sussex pullet sitting on the ground with her head totally contorted. 1st thought was predator attack. I rushed her to the back porch, looked her over, no sign of predator. Next thought, something I have never dealt with, wry neck. I almost culled her, but I am going to try to treat her just for the experience in maybe being able to help someone else some day. I'll keep you all updated & get pics. I have her in a small animal crate on the back porch. Treating her with electrolytes, vitamins, extra vitamin E, and scrambled eggs mixed with starter feed. She is currently eating on her own (somewhat)....I have to untwist her neck, hold her upright & firmly hold her head up. I also have to bathe her daily because when she poops, she just lays in it.

Well you all have a good day. I hear it's suppose to rain most of the day here & I want to get my walk in for Phil!:D

Oh, no, I hope you are able to bring her through it!

Rain here today too - loving it! It's cooled things off by 20 degrees from yesterday and the extended forecast shows the temps staying down even after the rain leaves after tomorrow, maybe this is finally the onset of fall! I love the smell of a rainy day.

Four months old is not a normal age for wry neck. It could be active mareks and there was some other thing they get that can have symptoms like that. Definitely quarantine her and watch the rest of the flock closely.

I went for a two mile walk this morning. I have been working on this for a year and have lost 10 pounds. My goal is to lose another 20 over this year. Heart disease is more common in my family with a bit of diabetes. I have no symptoms of that yet but am still watching for it.
