My leukemia's back.

OGM---the tram is way cool

. We never did the trolley, apparently there's a tram/trolley/train kind of thing that goes around the city? We just did the tram. It freaked my mom out, but the boys loved it when they came to visit. Hopefully it's a clear day when you go, and you can see all the mountains, etc. Taking it after dark is cool, too, with all the lights of the city and reflecting off the river.

The team came down to southern Oregon, so it was just down the road for me today. So nice of them!

Good news, I get to cut down my prednisone

. We're going to give it a try, anyway. Doing a bit more testing on the lungs and trying to see why the breathing isn't responding well. Not the magic wand I wanted, but at least I felt they're addressing things.

And, got the okay to hang with the animals again---there's not an emoticon strong enough for that one. She's not thrilled about the chickens, so I'll still mask when in the main coop. But the hay critters are fair game......well, crap. While typing that, I was thinking about being out with them this afternoon, and I had the water running in the tank.....said a Very Bad Word that shocked Echo....had to run out and turn the water off.....paddock is flooded, not that you can really tell with all the water out there anyway

okay, I'm back and trying to breathe again.....sheesh.

Anyway, okay to be out feeding, with the animals, etc. But I think The Locusts can still feed for a while

. Momma needs a break, some.

Bought the truck we looked at. It's red, I've been so used to Honey driving a white truck for almost 10 years. Now I've got to turn my head for red, going to take some getting used to. But it's pretty!

Joshgirl, I thank you for your efforts to help me. But, I'm two years out from a stem cell transplant and my leukemia is basically considered cured. Discussed that with my provider today, she said with my labs she would be very, very surprised if I had any return of my disease. Yippee!
Hooray!

Glad you got some good news at the visit, and congrats on the new truck.

Rachel, so much good news to digest at one time i think I'm going to need an Alka Seltzer!! So happy for you! Hope they can get the breathing thing figured out but the joy of hearing her say that a return is unlikely had to make even that go down a little better! Thank you, Lord, and way to go, Team Rachel! Now let's turn Team Ashley for the next few months until she rings that "last chemo" bell in April!

So last night it was ice cream and tonight it's fried fish...what's on the menu for tomorrow?
After the mid winter barbecue, and I suggest it would be fitting to have it on Feb 2. Perhaps we can find a whistle pig to toss on the barbey, perfectly seasoned and marinaded, of course. (On my bucket list to try various typed of game.) Grilled veggies, followed by a dessert buffet. Hey, did you guys know the true definition of a calorie: Calorie: A unit of measurement that defines how good a certain food item tastes. The calorie measurement of any given food item is directly proportional to the flavor of said item. Consumption of food items with higher calorie and flavor index are proven to be better for one's emotional health.

Father, I lift Ashley up to you, praying that you would lay your healing hand on her, give her and her family emotional strength, and help them to rest in your care. I pray that her appetite would be preserved, that her blood counts would remain good so that she can stay on schedule for the completion of her Chemo. I pray that you would chase every last cancer cell from her body. I pray that you would give her medical team wisdom and compassion as they do their jobs.

April, huh? It's been quite a haul for that little girl and her family, but that's not that far away. Praying for her healing, I want to see her hit her two year mark also!

I got distracted by the water trough overflowing last night and forgot to comment on the fish---that looked so good! Maybe Honey will go fishing this weekend and bring me some fresh fish. Just pan fried with a little tarter sauce---yum!

I have clam chowder in the fridge, maybe that will tide my cravings over for a while.
