Our truck finally seems to be running okay. Honey's taken it to work the last week and it's brought him home every night. I call that a win!

Still snowing here. I was shocked the Locusts had school today, they close it at the drop of a snowflake around here. But I was glad! They need to get out of the house.

Baby calf is doing well. He's bucking and kicking in the stall, playing in the new straw. Acting interested in the hay, but not eating any really. Big sister Tater is becoming more tolerant, until he butts her trying to nurse. She doesn't like that so much, not that I'd blame her lol.

Yep, Happy Birthday, Mrs. Phi - and you be careful if you are going to be car-puttering in the cold, Mr. Phil~

Off to pick up Kendra in a few minutes...Ken finally has his appointment with the shoulder surgeon this morning so she'll have to go with us instead of to school. His appointment up in Billings is at 10, and normally we'd be picking her up from school at 10 ~ that ain't gonna work!

Tam lost her house on Friday. She's rented that little place for 7 years, and the owners just love her and Evan. But they decided that it was time to sell it. They offered her first chance at it, but at $120,000 it wasn't going to happen. She's finally managed to get a little credit after the bill-hiding shambles Dan (x-hubby) was responsible for, but it sure isn't good enough for financing a mortgage, especially with nothing to put down. And it seems like just when she gets things on an even keel, something else comes up from those bad old days and bites her in the hiney. But a friend she used to work with (until Shannon moved across the mountains to Buffalo after the death of her husband) had her house in Byron sitting empty, on the market, with no takers. She'd paid it off with part of his insurance, but was paying taxes and utilities on both places. She called Tam and offered it contract-for-deed, at the same payment as Tam's current rent, so Monday Tam became a homeowner. Thrilled for her! Great house, too...built in 1937 with all those little touches. The outside looks kinda rough, but soon as you step inside you get an entirely different feel. Shannon put in a new heating system, new roof, new flooring and appliances when she put it on the market, so aside from the turquoise paint it's in pretty good shape with the major upgrades done just last summer. One big master bedroom downstairs, with a separate sitting room no less, and 3 bedrooms and an open den right at the top of the stairs, which is pretty cool! We are beyond excited for her, but it means now she'll be several miles away instead of two blocks down. Evan will still attend Rocky where he is now, because Byron is in the same school district as Cowley. Answer to many prayers for both Tam and Shannon!

Other than that, pretty busy around here. When isn't it?

PS know what you mean about getting the bedroom ready. I use my sons closet for my overflow (several sizes of clothes IN CASE I loose weight - LOL) And all extra stuff and clutter hides in his room too, on the bed.

Thanks DD, I'm pretty excited about it! What with his going to school and my moving around & work schedule the past few years, this is only the 5th time I'll see him in the past 6 years. And he's actually going to stay for a whole week! Lots of time to catch up and maybe do a couple extra fun things.

But, whew, that room...yikes! (And yes, I should be working on it right now instead of hanging out online but this is more fun, lol.)

Blooie--what a blessing for all involved! The house sounds lovely. I prefer the older places, like you said, they have all those nice little touches. Character, that's what it is. Bummer about the distance, but a few miles isn't really too bad. Just no more walking across the street--are bicycles an option for the older kiddos, weather permitting?

And I know it's a good friend and all that, but Tam got everything all legal, right? My sister just went through something similar, bought from a friend on lease to own a few years ago, and the friend just tried to wring more $$ out of them, they had to take it to court. So, not to be a downer, but it's on my mind recently.

Debby--wonderful about the boy coming, and for a whole week!! Adult children often forget what a blessing they are to parents, even still.

Speaking of parents, my Mom was walking her dog in their local canyon yesterday and took a fall. Hurt her knee and ribs, got checked out at the local ED and nothing broken but she's going to be sore for a few days. Please pray for her healing. Of course, this had to happen when the weather is so bad I really can't just pop over there

Okay, I know my friends here will appreciate the depth of the current crisis in our household. We've been struggling with this for 2-3 days now, and it's reached critical mass. Something has to be done, today, or the entire household may simply implode. If nothing else, the Procurement Officer will definitely be fired!

We are out of butter.

Yep, not a stick to be seen. I used the last a few nights ago to make peach cobbler. I know, they sell it at the store. But, I'm so cheap, I only like to buy it at Costco cause it's, well, cheaper. So I've got to get down there today and stock up.
