My leukemia's back.

No, no garden tractor. All we have is a little ride on lawn mower. I'd love to have a tractor with all the bells and whistles. I could find a lot of trouble, er... projects if I had one of those.

well... date is set for my dad's surgery.

It is a big one.

They need to take out a chunk of esophagus, right above the stomach. They will need to take some small intestine AND some colon in order to rebuild his esophagus. Of course a stomach tube will be put in for food. No eating or drinking by mouth for I think 6 weeks post-operation. So, this will be a crazy major surgery, and he has NOT been following doctors orders in regard to walking, eating enough, and breathing exercises.

Thursday morning is the operation. I think my mom said he needs to be at the hospital by 5:30 am.

Wow, that is a big surgery.

Hoping it goes smoothly and recovery is uneventful. Will be keeping him and your family in our prayers.

I hated to "like" your post @Alaskan, but it is the only way to show moral support. Sure hope everything goes better than can be expected with your Dad's surgery.

Alaskan, I can't bring myself to hit the like button for such a post, cause, there's nothing to like about it, aside from being thankful that we live in such an age that such medical treatments even exist. Will hold you and yours in my prayers.
