My leukemia's back.

Thanks, @getaclue, I try to stay positive and for the most part life has blessed us well enough that I should. Today I need a little help from all of you. One of our grand daughters was diagnosed with Lupus as a 5 year old. It's been an up and down mostly positive journey for her. Around 16 she developed Lupus Nephritis and nearly died. Things have gone well for her since then. She came home from college with weight loss and a bad sore throat. Doctor suspected Strep so took a culture and put her on antibiotics. Long story short - she's dealing with a Lupus flare up that is causing lesions and infection in her throat. She's been in ICU since Friday, and she is 'responding well', Whatever the H that means. We are not allowed to visit, and being unable to help/fix is killing me. What a horrible disease that causes your body to attack itself. Please pray for Jennifer.
Prayers! :hugs

Good morning Team Rachel.

sourland, they've come a long way with lupus. The first time I heard about lupus was about 25 years ago. The wife of someone my dad worked with had it. She almost died before they figured out what it was, and how best to treat it. She was in bad shape for quite some time, but her treatment worked, and eventually she was able to resume a normal lifestyle. I've heard of it several times since then, and read some about some of the newer treatments, especially for younger people. Keep your chin up, and your faith strong. Many of us are praying for Jennifer, and prayers count for a lot too.
