My leukemia's back.

I went to my oncologist today. Remember, last time the results on my blood work were not good at all. I did contact my oncologist, and had her review a research paper on Ibrance, that showed a few others had experienced the same type blood test results in the same areas as mine. What the blood test indicated was a cellular mutation in the blood, which is usually a form of leukemia or worse. This is why all the other tests were so important this time.

The Letrazole/Ibrance combination has gotten all tumor activity stopped, and even reversed, but we have never been able to get the bone mets stable, although the mets were in 2 places, and extremely small. I got an infusion of Zometa last month to try to get the bone mets stable. Blood is made in the bones, so the testing was going to show increased activity in the bones, which is further evidence of a cellular mutation in the blood, OR no increase in activity in the bones, which means the Ibrance is causing a false reading.

For the first time, since I finished chemo, EVERYTHING is stable. The activity in the tiny bone mets has stopped. All tumor activity has stopped. EVERYTHING is stable. The Ibrance is causing the false reading in the blood tests. The Ibrance does not cause the actual change in the bloodwork, it simply causes a false reading. Since the Letrazole/Ibrance combination, along with the Zometa is working, I'm going to stay on it, and get as much benefit from it as I can, for as long as possible.
That is good news!

I was worried when the tests came back wonky and am happy it was a false positive

All of the meds stuff is Greek to me, but I sure like reading the ...Everything is stable part!!!!!

Glad your old avatar is back Cyn, now I know it is you. All the changing avatars on BYC goof me up. Otherwise I do double or triple takes to try and figure who is who. Eyes and memory don't work in lock step recognition.

Cynthia, same avatar. It throws me off when others change theirs, so I picked one I can live with all the time. I only change it for Christmas sometimes.

Thank you everyone. Prayers are being answered, and I really do thank you for them. I was a little

sour, improvement is good. I hope it was a very minor hiccup, and that everything will continue to improve. Jenny is still in my prayers.

I'm glad I went back and re-read that! First thought was, "Oh, man! Not 2 Sours!!" :lau Of course, come to think of it that would be a pretty cool deal for us!
