What I am posting is from the CDC Website. They are Dr.s there.

Talk to your Dr. to see what they say about getting the new vaccine.

Getting chicken pox now would be hard since nearly all children have bee vaccinated for it for about 30 years.

I swear to you all I'm trying to keep up.
My life around here just is overwhelming most of the time.
Sometimes I feel like I should just walk away from all this work and just retire into a little apartment and say the hell with it all.
Except this little acre of land is all I really have.....

It was at times..... The first bout was on my side above where my spleen is.... Horrible painful...... But after my transplant I used to get them on my forehead.... Which was bad enough but was contained to a smaller area and the anti viral they gave me worked well at bringing the symptoms down.
I also get them above my tailbone.... In fact that area is all scarred up from them.
That spot still flares up from time to time

I believe you are right, Bruce! When any resident at the SNF has a shingles outbreak, they are on precautions until the outbreak is over.

It's easy enough to have a titer done to determine if you have had chicken pox. It's common practice to do it with new pregnancies. (Or at least it was, "back in the day.") I would not have the shingles vaccine without having a positive titer if I had no memory of having had chicken pox (or tell tale scars).

Yeah I hate that frozen feeling.....I get it every morning..... That's why when I finish my morning coffee I take a ride to the store and grab a monster energy no calorie drink...... It's my version of a crow bar
