My leukemia's back.

Remember the t shirts announcement for our grandbaby? Time flies, due this month..on Halloween! So the end of the month. Thinking she will have ...him...early.:) She looks soooo... cute! Going to share this around, so some of you may see it a few times. :)

Keep us posted Cynthia!

Today Spina Bifida Awareness Month begins, thanks to people like our own Cynthia!
October it is! Things have changed some too since I was part of a 5 year study also. I sent them blood while I was expecting my child after Richard, and they sent me pre natal vitamins. Wow, a pretty important find there. Folic Acid..very important to start as soon as you start trying to become pregnant..found out that you are already expecting? Start those vitamins now! First three months... as the baby will be fully formed by the end of the 3. I'm finding out that so many other things are available now for the help of a child once born with this defect. They've come a long way baby. Edit to say, poor Richard is going through a UTI right now. Wish a great big miracle could happen for this. Surgeries yes, but he is sooo..against that thought.

Cynthia, for you and the others that helped with the study :clap

For Richard, sorry to hear he's going through this UTI :(

Things have also changed since Kendra was part of a study. Hers was a study by Children’s Hospital in Denver, along with several other pediatric hospitals and (I think) the American Acedemy of Pediatric Physiotherapists, or some such, to lay benchmarks in wheelchair use and learning. At 9 months old, she was the youngest child to be put in a wheelchair to teach self-mobility, and she blew them out of the water! I can remember so clearly that she was running over toes and turning in place at less than a year old, and by a year and half could maneuver confidently around most of the obstacle course they set up for testing.

Hugs for Richard...I’ve kind of adopted him, you know!
