My leukemia's back.

I really haven't wanted to post this, but denial can only take you so far.......

Some of my byc family remembers I was diagnosed with leukemia in June 13. I did all the chemo and had a clean bone marrow in Feb 14, indicating remission. Well, that didn't last. My labs started dropping and I had another bone marrow biopsy, it confirmed I'm relapsed. I go back to OHSU in Portland on Tuesday for induction chemo again. This means a 4-6 week stay, 250 miles from home

. It's going to be quite a challenge for my family. My honey's having a hard time not being able to be with me, but he's got to hold down the fort at home. The boys aren't happy, of course, but at least we've had some warning this time. After Induction and some more chemo, they'll be looking for a bone marrow donor since I don't have appropriate siblings. This whole process is going to take a long, long time.

I know God's got my back with this, and it's His plan no matter what happens. It's just hard being so far from my family. And then even when I can come home, I'll be immune compromised and have to live like a germaphobe again--most of you know I'm pretty much the opposite of that!

So, I'd again encourage anyone who is able to donate blood. Not specifically for me, but for everyone like me out there who relies on a transfusion to keep going.

All my friends who are praying folk--your prayers are always accepted! For those who aren't praying people, feel free to start any time

Dh lost a credit card. He's VERY upset. I'm sooooo glad it wasn't me, or I'd never hear the end of it. To be honest, I'm glad he lost it. He got 2 of them, that I didn't know about. We've had a chat about his credit card situation. I want the "secret" ones he got, paid off, and shredded.

I hope he's contacted the credit card company to report the lost card. There are some pretty shady characters out there that will take advantage of finding a card.

My DH didn't lose his but someone in Spain managed to make some purchases using DH's card. Took over a month to get those fraudulent charges settled and DH got his money back.

Yes, he reported it.

sour, you are so right about credit cards being the downfall of many. He, and I have had several discussions about it. He kept wondering how his peers managed to spend so much money, yet we are always poor, but he makes as much, or more money than most of them do. I explained that they were living on credit, and hocked up to their eyeballs. He didn't believe me. A short time later, one of them was complaining that his wife lost her job, and if she didn't get to work soon, they would lose everything, including their home. Another had a wife get sick, and was out of work for a few months. He too began talking about how they were going to lose everything. We didn't have credit cards, and were never in any danger of losing anything, when I got cancer, and couldn't work. He's going to retire in 3 years, and I don't want him risking any of our future due to credit cards. It's best to learn to live within your means.
