I too learned very little in the school system... except that I didn't like being bullied. And some kids are crazy hung up on clothes with name brands.

A couple of the many reasons why I homeschooled the kids.

Bullying, an oversexualized culture, & lice. I have an absolutely irrational fear of head lice.

Lice are not so bad...we had those once...got them, FROM MY MOTHER!!!



Bedbugs though, I am totally panicked about ever getting those!

Bed bugs terrify me too, but that’s more of a rational fear. I check the bedbug registry before we stay anywhere.

My interest in school was getting outside so that I could do what mattered to me.

I wanted to get out of a poor economic condition. My Dad was disabled and we lived off of a partial pension and my Mom's 10 month Aid Salary. Dad was denied SSI because they did not recognize MS as a disability back in the 1970s.

Good that you did. Some that grew up in your situation don't ever get past thinking it is they best they can get.

I used to take my scantron tests in school based on fairness of ABC&D all getting equal amounts of bubbles.

You are suggesting that didn't work out very well??
