It'll be fine, thanks! Ken and I are invincible! Just celebrated our 51st anniversary. Quite an affair it was, too....I'm dead serious! We were on the road, so we went all out for a nice anniversary brunch - I even got an extra pancake!

Just blah myself...doing paperwork which always bumps me...

Eldest kid took a learning disability test friday... results don't come in until Wednesday....

But testing doc said she guessed from the teaching history that I gave her that the kid has ADD, dyslexia, and aspergers.

Really? All of them?

My baby sis said "oh yeah, I totally see that"

The shrink he is going to twice a week said nope, 2 months of twice a week visits will not get his head screwed on straight.... he will need more...

He only has housing in Portland for 2 months... and since his head is NOT yet screwed on straight.... I have doubts that he can support himself at this point....

Whatever... 1 day at a time...

The suspected issues are more easily treatable than schizophrenia. With males, that often is diagnosed at the same age.

Gotta say you had me pretty worried, especially since unexpected things happen. I suppose you've not yet heard that Latestarter died unexpectedly on the 23rd. Only way I guess. I'm surprised about the aspergers given all the church work he did. That required a lot of interaction with unknown people. Best of luck to him!

Lots of hugs and prayers for you and your family, Al....love ya! One day at a time can even seem overwhelming at times and I have to break it down even further. We're here for you!

Bruce, I dunno about that Asberger's and meeting unknown people! Look at Katie - she functions in big crowds with strangers just fine. She's been to many Grand Lodges, she's sung solos in school and in competitions, she was comfortable meeting all new friends on the cruise, she helps all the kids at summer camp, she's active in school, and she has even had lunch with the Secretary of State for South Dakota. It depends so much on the person and steady exposure to situations that are normally out of their comfort zones. No way does anyone who meets Katie even suspect that she's Autistic, and she actually gets kind of a kick out of that sometimes. If she's really comfortable, like sitting at a banquet with people that Ken and I are friends with, she loves to stop them with their forks halfway to their mouths and tell them, but only if they are already talking about how well behaved she is or some such. Then she loves to say, "And I'm Autistic, too! I want to teach everyone that having Autism doesn't mean that a person is crazy, and that we just want to be included." That's my Katie!

I didn't hear about Latestarter. I feel so bad about that and for his friends and family. What a shocker! I'll check out that page right after I post this, when I can focus on it without distraction. It's important to take it all in, not just skim it. Thanks for doing that and for the link.

What @Blooie said. He does fine in social situations... he just has a few odd responses... (has trouble in smoothly ending a conversation) and is incapable of reading body cues.
