My leukemia's back.

There is a lot of hope in that report!

:hugs He should get as much help as possible and will be very likely to live independantly

Absolutely! Ken's sister Sharon was, frankly, mentally retarded, and she worked two different jobs over the years before she died...she loved her groundskeeping and landscaping work, and worked for the same company for 11 years. Then when she married Robbie and they moved, she got a job as a housekeeper in a local motel. As meticulous and cheerful as she always was, she was a natural at both, and loved her independence! Robbie also had some issues, just not as bad as Sharon. But I've never seen two people so totally devoted to each other. When she died a couple of years ago, Robbie was devastated. He loved her so much. Everyone did. So yes, there is a lot of hope in that diagnosis! And options! The options are going to be so helpful to him living a long, happy, and productive life.

I went to the doctor late yesterday afternoon. It was about 7 pm when we went to get my prescriptions. One of the prescriptions is for 20 mg of prednisone. There was no way I was going to take that much, that late at night. I took a 5 mg. instead. I got up this morning, took my medications, even the 20 mg. of prednisone. So far, I've gone out to the storage, got the large dog crate, disinfected it, set it up for the chicks, taken out the smaller crate they were in, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned one of the bathrooms. I think I need to sit down for awhile, and do a bit of resting.

Yes, you need to take it a little easier on that body of yours! Compromised immune systems make it so difficult to fight anything, and Prednisone is great but it can make you feel better than you really are, if that makes any sense!

I've missed a lot of posts. Cynthia, I hope that you're doing better now!

Yeah, prednisone tricks the body into thinking that nothing's wrong, so that there is no reason for inflammation. It think it boosts heart rate some too. The trouble is, it tricks everything into thinking nothing is wrong, and with the boost in heart rate, one feels great, and energized. It's real easy to overdo things. I have to keep reminding myself to stay low key.

What did you have? I just got over a horrible bout of Pertussis..whoop who cough. So hard on us older folks. Let my vaccination go 10 years. Will get one next tome I go into the Drs. Hope you are feeling better now, whatever it is you have.
It is very important! You have a lot of grandkids to spoil

A RIR, BLACK SEXLINK, and an EE. Good layers, and a blue egg to boot. Only a year old. Have been watching our local ads on line. Nice healthy birds. You know I'll get a photo or two. It's so good to hear their sounds again.
Sounds like fun.
