My leukemia's back.

My mom, my sister and my dads sister all had breast cancer - that was all the family tree that I needed to "qualify" for the genetic testing. I didn't care to do it for myself, I had the cancer and it wouldn't change the course of treatment of follow-up. But, my younger sister guilt-ed me into agreeing to this anyway. Her doctor told her that once I get my results, I need to share them with her and then she can get tested to see if she is at higher risk of getting breast cancer. If it makes her feel better, I am willing to do it.

So, Mom is back in the hospital. Hemoglobin was low yesterday, so back she went; they gave her a couple of units of blood. Numbers are good this morning, but it looks like they are going to keep her there for a couple of days, at least.
I hope they can figure it out for her!

Anyone good at miracles ?

I may or may not have mentioned that I am raising a litter of pups and training a b*tch for a friend who is battling cancer. Jerry came through his initial bout with throat cancer fairly well and was in remission for several years. It came back metastasized to his bones, and initial treatment was positive. He fell, dislodged a tumor that was on a bone, and was partially immobilized . He's a fighter and got back on his feet - completed another round of treatment and had an MRI yesterday. Results were not good as the cancer has not responded to treatment. Doctors have another treatment planned, but he has had enough and is ready to go. Give me a miracle, folks. :hugs

So sorry for you, for Jerry, and for Jerry's family.

Sour, sometimes we just don’t know what to pray FOR! It’s easier for those of us who love someone to pray for a healing miracle, but sometimes our loved one has another prayer wish. I guess, as in all things, the most fitting prayer is simply, “Thy will be done...”. It’s a hard truth but one I learned well from Linda and Rachel. Sending love and hugs, and prayers for you and his family.
