They are bristlenose. But this is the type of algae that they don't seem to eat...it is hard small green spots.

It sounds like you have green spot algea. The only thing that will eat it is Olive Nerite Snails. I had a problem with it in my tanks and I got the snails and haven't seen it since.

See, I didn't know that and I thought mine died! Until I walked passed the tank one night and happened to see my snail on the side of the tank! I was ready to go get another one too. Glad I didn't cause with my luck I would of ended up with one of the oppisite gender and had a million more. Glad you are alright.
