Hi everyone,
Well this is my first baby out of 23 eggs, and to say that she hasn't given me and my partner a sleepless night would be an understatement.
In the last 24 hours she pretty much pipped and then has not been able to break through.
My partner assisted this morning but only to help a little with the shell, as we are unsure if she is in a weird position. (still cant see).
She has pipped to the centre of the egg, and this was the concern!
The shell was extremely tough.
I am hoping that the membrane is a good colour, and if I may need to wet it with a cotton tip?
All help and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

x2 on the resource @CTKen posted - great information there. From the photo, the membrane doesn't look brown (dry) to me, but you could try gently peeling it back a bit to see if that facilitates hatching (follow the instructions in the BYC assisted hatching thread previously referenced, and be on the lookout for blood). If the membrane appears to be browning and posing a risk of shrinkwrapping, you could moisten it carefully, staying away from the chick's beak and nostrils.

If possible, it's best to try to let the chick push out of the shell by itself, but I have helped several chicks with zipping. Good luck!!
