This may be "unpopular...but I have chickens for two reasons.
Eggs & meat...
They are cute but they are not pets. They are producers and workers in my garden.
When the time comes, my dual purpose, birds, little graduate to a freezer. Then I will begin again with a new flock.
They are cute though, but I entered this knowing what their purpose was.
