My "magnificent beast"

Some time ago I was trying to figure out just what the heck my little black Cochin frizzle roo was:

...and somebody said to just give him some time, that he would turn out to be a "magnificent beast"...

Well, we think he has:

(his name, thanks to my son, is Freddy Mercury)

...and all of his five "girls" are bigger than him, but he is still the boss and he can "squawkadoodledoo" a bit now, too. (We live in a cornfield, so nobody cares). We think he's adorable.

Awe, he is just adorable! Bantam Frizzled Cochins are definitely on my list of chickens to get next year. I hope I get one as cute as yours!

Maybe his singing abilities will live up to his namesake!! He actually did look a bit like him as a chick. Marvelous bird.
