My Mallards

Okay, duck experts. I need some help. I am really confused about one of my ducks. He (or she) is very laid back and rarely quacks and when he does, it's very quiet. But it doesn't sound like the males. It sounds like the girls when they're just talking to themselves. If it helps, his bill is a silvery blue-gray. Seriously, it's blue. Thanks

Mallard drakes will have a greenish bill and the hens will have a black and orange or charcoal bill. When a few weeks old they all appear to have greenish heads.

Okay, thanks. I thought he (er, she) might be a girl because her quack didn't sound like my male, but she is quiet! I don't think I have ever heard her yell, so to speak.

look at the bills. If the bill is more yellow its a male. If its gray or turning orange its a female.

Yep that one is a male it has green on its head by the eye. See it?

Yeah, I noticed that. But that contradicts the bill theory. I think Don is trying to confuss me.
