Here they are. I think there are two toms and two hens. The copper blacks are not too sure about them yet. I only leave them out together when I am there. I'm afraid if the roo got brave he would kill them.

I've always been amazed at just how big the turkeys get!

Sweet looking turks, I just adore the midgets

, however when that Jake (tom) gets older watch out when breeding season starts, he more than likely will put the hit on the rooster.
I know my one wild tom when he is out of his pen and the breeding season is getting ready to start, all other birds stay clear of him..
They can easily kill any rooster/chickens

Thanks for the warning! These are my first turkeys. I have a great big pen for them when they are older. I have to do a little patching and flight proofing but they can have a 24x12 fully covered pen with 2x4" heavy horse wire six foot high fence and solid barn panels on two sides. I just want to make sure they can't get out. I just LOVE these turkeys!! I am amazed how quickly they grow! These hatched April 30th. I had them on medicated chick starter first two weeks, switched them over to Startena game bird starter and they are still on that. How long do you keep turkey poults on starter? Till they lay an egg?

i loves my midgies! they are way cute. fun sized! they don't think they're any smaller then the others though! they even show off to the grown bourbons!

Thanks for the link! I read it and it says to start them on the breeder mix a month before they lay. When would you say that might be... their guidelines stop at sixteen weeks. Do they lay at twenty?

My turkey hen got really crabby during mating season. She harrassed the hens, but never had a problem with my big RIR roo- the turkey was a non-issue to him.
