My mille fluer d' uccle was a roo now a hen.

I have a mille fluer d'uccle "hen" but it was a roo. I had a pair and "she" was with a hen till it kicked the bucket it was crowing and everything. mow it stopped crowing and is laying eggs, so what happened?? has it happened to you???

maybe it was just a hen that crowed.. it's possible, there are hennies in some breeds.. if not most.. That after their first year the roosters molt into looking like hens (or are born looking like it) but they couldn't possibly lay eggs, feathersite has peacocks, chickens, etc.. that changed their "gender".. but the hens still can fertilize/roosters can't lay eggs.
 
I don't know about the change in that direction Boy->Girl, but feathersite has the info on Girl->Boy. Is it at all possible that it was a She-She pair with one who assumed the role of the rooster? Crowing can happen with hens if there is no rooster to do it. I guess this wouldn't work out if you ever hatched eggs from the pair. Let us know... inquiring minds want to know.
