Here's a funny story. I have a bantam mix that's 6 days old. One is a Mille Fluer d'Uccle, I'm sure. Others have guessed that, plus now that I see pics of them I'm sure it is one. Well, this little thing is such a brat! If I try to pick it up it runs like crazy and is surprisingly hard to catch. When I do finally pick it up, it screams bloody murder and will continue to freak out until it wears itself out. I don't know what the deal is, but it really stands out compared to the Silkies who are mellow.

So yesterday I picked it up and it started screaming as usual and I was talking to it trying to soothe it to no avail. I got thinking about its' breed and for some silly reason, I started speaking French to it. I don't know much french, but I asked it if it speaks french and some other ridiculous things. I SWEAR: It stopped cold and just stared at me. When I said in English, "there now, you're okay..." it started squawking again. So I went back to French, it shut up.

I'm not insane, I swear this is happening. My guess is that I must use a different tone of voice when speaking French and maybe that takes her off guard, or maybe she likes that tone better? All I know is that it's hysterical.

SO: Can anyone think of some good french names? I can't resist. It's supposed to be a female, but it's so loud and acts so stubborn that it makes me wonder if it could be a rooster. So I better take a few boy names too. I want ridiculous dramatic french names, which will suits it's over the top personality.

Thanks!

Maybe Yvonne, Antoinette or Celeste? I wonder how you say chicken in french? I know I read it in Harry Potter: Madame Pomfrey. I forget what character she was, but I always thought that name was funny.

Too funny that it calms down when you speak French

How about Tintin, the famous French cartoon character?
Or P.P. , short for Petit Prince? (Pronounced "pay-pay")

Or, if you want to get grandiose, Voltaire, Sarte, Claude (for Claude Monet), or Charlemagne (First emperor of France- my personal favorite)
