I'm good- I have three shipments of eggs coming from three different sources. I will use an egg turner and put my incubator in the bedroom instead of on the kitchen table. I am very excited about not having to turn the eggs three times a day by hand...and my temps should stay more consistent in a different room.
those hatchers will get my brother-in-law well stocked again. AND any of the ones that hatch in my incubator now will be ready to go to his house by the time those ones hatch. I think
...as for us here at my house: Well, we will keep Carmen of course- my daughters house chicken that needs to move outside and soon (how much poop can one chicken produce? Holy smokes I wasn't prepared for that! Wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't trying to keep her room clean. Wouldn't bother me if she was OUTSIDE- but I can't put a baby out there all alone. She is maybe 5 weeks old-my kid and she are inseperable). Then, of course we need to keep an Easter Egger, an Australorp, and a SILKIE
....and that is all... oh, an a Black Giant if they hatch from this group...and that is all....
ALSO- I am NOT stressing anymore over the Serama eggs that are NOT showing any signs of pipping. They just do not know they are on Day 20...it is very easy to say to my kids:"Don't count your chickens before they hatch" and quite another thing to believe it myself. Very humbling.
