my naughty rooster

Our rooster is the only one in the coop of 6 ladies ( lucky duck ) but his mean. When peeked my daughter in the stomach. My daughter is 5 years old. Shes friendly to them and doesn't make noise around them. Im trying to teach my kids about backyard chickens and how their friendly and healthy. But this had got her scared and me.So i dont no why he did that to her. Then yesterday as i was getting out the coop he nearly peeked my bottom as i was getting out.
Why is he sooo mean. Whats his problem? What can i do to teach them a lesson.
My last option is BBQ if he doesnt behave with my kids

From what I've heard, some roosters are just mean. I wouldn't trust him around your 5 year old. If it were me, I'd get rid of him.

He.is only protecting his hens. If you free range you will be glad you have him. Read the article on keeping roosters.

Once you show fear, especially a small child, he will probably continue to be aggressive....if he was in fact being aggressive.
I'd not have a rooster around with small kids unless they can be taught to calmly and coolly dominate him.
Learning about bird behaviors and understanding them is the first step to living in harmony with them.
