Yep, experienced that more than once when I was a boy. LOL Sometimes I wouldnt go by the house for a couple days at a time, I'd just sleep in the barn hopin my folks would cool down. They never did, just made 'em madder!

I hve a stray cat checking our our chickens and so far it has not tried anything. I think the hens are just to big and I have one MEAN Serama roo and even tho he is tiny he puts a big fight for "his" hens. Too funny! I hope your chickens stay safe! I would put that cat in a box and set it by the shelter door...they have to take it in then. At least your chickens are safe that way.

First let me say I have a cat. His name is Pollen. He is my best friend in the world. I live on a farm in the country. My cat is a house cat but I tie him out in my fenced in back yard. I had a neighbor that moved in a couple of years ago. She said she had two cats. She had 10 and at least one was pregnant. I explained very nicely as I delivered a loaf of fresh home made bread and vegies from my garden that; I would rather have the snakes, hawks and owls eat my mice. A year and a half later after removing more than 30 cats she moved out. My Barn is still full of feather piles from the cat kills I lost two batches of baby chickens to those cats. You can politic all you like. I think its an attitude thing. People think they can let their cats run; its right. I say trap them and humainly dispose of them. Oh the neighbor I have now is awesome and they have 5 cats. My neighbors know they can have all the cats they want; they just have to hunt them on their own property, not mine. I pay hard money so I can enjoy my cat, my chickens and my nature.
