My new baby Buff Orpingtons!

Just got my Buff Orps today! I gave them some electrolyte water and food and they seem to be doing well. The thermometer says around 100 F below the lamp, so might need to adjust. Please enjoy my post and adventures with them!

To answer the question means needing to know what material the container is.

Many coops burn down each year from heat lamps.

A huge number of people are moving to using a mama heating pad. A brooder plate is another safer option.

I use broody hens.

The 15 Buff Orpingtons that I had years were the sweetest chickens ever, even the rooster was so nice that I could pick him up & he was as calm as a kitty. Best wishes.
