(the ink from newspaper can affect their respiratory health, as well as get slippery and cause splayed legs)

try putting them on paper towels or pine shavings... (no cedar shavings either!)

for the first couple of days, put down paper towels... then you can switch over to pine shavings... (don't use cedar shavings, as the oil in cedar wood can also damage the tiny lungs!)

when you switch them to pine shavings, them may eat a tiny bi of it, not knowing what it is.... so i would add a bit of chick grit to their food just in case the ingest some!

They are very cute.

I put paper towel down over newspaper for the 1st 3 weeks or so. Made clean up easy, but they started eating it and shredding it especially if it got wet, so i just used newspaper and cleaned them out 2-3 times a day. Never had a problem.
