actually her feet were just done a month ago, our farrier has been taking care of her since we got her, her feet were long when we got her, but were taken care of right away.she has a neck roll that is very large also due to when we first got her she was pregnant, inbred by her father, and fed white bread from the day old bread store for her nutrition, because they had run out of hay. this went on for quite some time, when her baby was born he lived about 24 hours, and was not near the size of this baby.
I have posted before on the evils of feeding bread to equine.
the vet said poor nutrition and inbreeding, mostly the poor nutrition was the cause of us losing him.
she only gets hay, and lots of fresh water, carrots for treats, and apples.
the "crack" is filed down, the spot nearest the baby, if that is what you are looking at, it is rounded down, it was a spot she had pawed at the ground and gravel. if you are looking at her other foot, she is standing on a twig. and she has never foundered, but thanks for the concern.
also, she is 5 years old.
