I live in Florida and can't even imagine the temperatures that you have to endure in Alaska.

As far as getting a dog to guard your livestock, he would have to be a heck of a dog to deal with the predators (bear) that come snooping around for lunch and adapting to the long cold winters. Your property is beautiful and I hope your new coop works out. Keep us posted.

The Alaska contingent of Icelandics are going to be VERY HAPPY.

I'm either going to have to build another coop or put my Ameraucanas into a pen and put the Icelandics into the big coop with the AC.

It's just too hot here now.

Sadly, it's the weekend and the contractors take weekends off

But they're supposed to be here Monday to start working on the footers and foundation

I would LOVE a barn like that. For now I am just happy to have what my hubby just build. I think I need a helmet though, as I can't walk in it and keep hitting my head. lol.
