My New Barn

Sounds like you have put lots of thought into this and done your research! It is definitely worth having running water, a sink and electricity in a barn - makes the chores so much easier. I can't wait to see how it turns out and how the birds like it. Did you leave space int here for a chair so you can sit and watch their antics?

How wonderful! I agree, always get the best that you can swing at the moment. Sometimes it's a box with a hole in it, sometimes it's a grand barn with running water! Good for you. You will enjoy it even more knowing that you have worked hard to get it. And what a beautiful landscape. That is my favorite part of seeing pictures from peoples posts. Seeing what it looks like in "their neck of the woods" or city for that matter. Can't wait to see progress pictures!

My fiance really likes the birds too, we have the yard swing by the temporary coop, it's a favorite place to sit after work and just relax.

You just need about 6 stalls for the gaited horses that Belle and I are going to have when we move in with you.

Very nice!

One thing I noticed was that your brooder is right next to your incubator. This has caused me head and heart aches. Once I pull them out of the bator and put them in the brooder, I go to set more eggs and in a few days, the incubator is spiking in teperatures! I'd suggest not having them close together at all. Good to know Dan, I will keep that in mind. So far, my bator has always been reliable and steady, but it is definately something to think about.

Thanks forthe input.

But there have been a couple additions.

The drain line for the utility sink.

And the plumbing for the floor drain.

The guy that was running the excavator had his small daughter with him today. I'm guessing she was about 2. A very bright little girl. I just happened to have my favorite lap-chicken in my hand as I went out there to see how the work was going and her little face lit up when I asked if she wanted to pet a chicken. She and Jukie (my 4 yo millie) became fast friends and I had fun watching my little chicken hop and run behind this little girl out in the field. Her dad was pretty entertained by the whole thing and I'm sure she had a great time showing momma the pictures when they got home.
