The chicks were fast outgrowing the brooder and we were planning on having another batch of chicks soon so hubby designed a brooder and it is finally finished. This is a fantastic brooder with 2 rooms and lots of space.
We used:
2-sheets of 4X8 1/4" plywood
9-2X4X8
1/2 roll of 1/4 gauge welded wire
4- 1X4X8
2-latch/hinge sets
16-corner braces
2- 2X2 squares of ply
2 roller tracts
Total cost was around $100.00. It took a total of probably 6 hours to complete.

I am happy with it and so are my chicks. I can close off the one area if wanted or leave it open.
