My new coop...4ft x 8ft with 9ft x 8ft run attached..

Not sure where to post this so I'll start here. Few weeks back I finally started building my long term coop for my six Dark Brahmas...

After looking at a few thousand coop pictures and builds I adopted bunch of things I liked and winged a few of the rest and based on our yard and building codes I opted to build a 4x8ft coop approx 36" off the ground. I'll try to update this post with my build as I go.

Framed all four walls...wasn't in mood to document even though I know I should...

Front wall with clean out door (36") and big brahma pop door for chickens ..il have to remeasure but it should be plenty big

I know I took pics of it framed without siding but cant find them so here's where o stopped for dinner yesterday. Managed three sides and ran out of lumber so couldn't finish rafters..

I didn't concrete it in but I did set it level on some pavers under every 4x4 and two pier blocks are locked in to stop it from moving laterally. I kind of want to take it with us to next house so thought this was best way..

I started to install hardware cloth on underside. Not that fun to work with. I'm OCD and even with all the squares it doesn't lay out the way I want it to. Oh well...

Managed to finish rafters this am...I'm so out of shape that hammering siding nails wore out my shoulder so slow going today. Hopefully finish last piece of siding and cut windows and trim sides for roof sheathing.

Still in planning phase of run but know it's going to be same width and height and 9 feet long off front of coop...fully covered with hardware cloth.

Finished the siding and secured rafters...this side is the nesting boxes and a window.
