I have a concern tho.
Is that corn on the ground for them to eat. IMO @ 4 weeks they might still be a little young.

Nope, not corn... blossoms from the tree just overhead!

BTW... they are now 10 weeks and they love a little chicken scratch a couple times a week.

You could hang the waterer, or put it up on a cinder block. If it is very hot where you live, water the grass, and get all the bare spots muddy, and let them out. (supervised, if you don't free range) they will love to sit in the cool grass and scratch in the mud.

What an adorable coop. I love your avatar picture Mohonri. You look like Houdini to me.
Very intense and mysterious.

Well the first mishap of my 3 month old coop occured last night during the thunderstorm.... a large limb from the neighbors tree fell during the storm and broke my sky light.... it just broke the upper part, so it didn't leak but now they'll have real sunshine coming in, instead of muted sunshine.

I guess it's like a new car, eventually it's gonna get a dent.

Well Carla,

As you say, the chickens are still healthy and happy. They always enjoy their coop on Saturdays after it's swept and mopped and new pine shavings are put down.... sometimes I wonder if they aren't all telling one another... "Hey don't poo out here in the run, he'll have that coop all clean for us to poop in soon!"

I wish there were a way to "potty train" chickens.

My coop in the corner of the backyard.... kind of a mess as we had a huge storm this past weekend. I've got the day off tomorrow so with three days I should be able to get it back into shape.

Tomorrow I'm rehoming 6 hens and the EE roo, they're headed to Avondale.... must make room for chicks after they hatch next week.

Here's another view of the run and coop.
