Ok the new coop is complete! I even have my first rooster!!
There is a door between the 2 partitions of the run that lets them come and go over a larger space. I made it too so that if something gets through the outter partition it will be harder getting into the second. Ive got the mesh on the side that attaches to the building. The birds will be in the coop at night and that big door locks down really good. Later this summer when they are more settled I will be cutting a small hatch for them to come and go on the rainier days so that no rain blows in. The rooster seems happy
Looking at the space, which is 12x10sqft I think I'll only keep maybe 6 birds, no more that 8. I think they will be happier and I should get some nice eggs I woud like to breed the rooster to get the last few birds since the hens I am getting are already 2.
