Coop is modeled after “The Coop Deville By Landis Farm” https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/the-coop-deville-by-landis-farm
Main coop is 8x8x6
Total run area is 8x25
There was no plan or blue print of any kind, just a few pictures from the above link. I added more windows above the nesting box, automatic chicken door opener, pipe feeder and 5gal bucket water with vertical nipples. All plans and building skills were learned from BYC and youtube videos.
50% building materials were brought new... the other 50% were from the 70% pile from Home Depot.
$70 for all windows from restore store.
Automatic chicken coop door $185
Total cost ~ $1500
Time and cost were all underestimated.
Thank you to BYC community for all the ideas and support!
Completed date: June 15, 2014
Feb 28, 2014 It was just a simple trip to TSC, but we came home with these cuties...
A place that we picked from our backyard.
Countless trips to the home improvement stores.
April 15, 2014
lots of rain delayed during the Spring season...
Roof is up, and I didn't have to hide my tools any more.
The chicks were getting too big for the brooder inside the house... so I built a temp box...
and run while they wait for their permanent home to complete.
June 28, 2014. Exactly 4 months later, we got our very first eggs.
