My New COOP!!!!! What does everyone think??????

Hope you made the coop hurricane Hugo proof!

Glad you lowered the nest boxes. Got to keep the hens happy. It's a very nice rustic look, but airy. GREAT JOB!

Beautiful cat! I have a main coon also, but she's much smaller, probably a mix because I got her as a feral kitten. But she looks exactly like your guy. They are so sweet.

I like your coop also, I especially like how the run looks more substantial and part of the coop (which it seems to be). As I plan our coop and run to be built this spring, I will keep that in mind since it will be right in our garden area, where we want it to look nice.

Nest boxes made of western cedar and lined with coastal bermuda hay because it is softer. Special thanks to riddles feed and seed easley sc for the hay

Slanted roost covered with 1x1 chicken wire to keep my buddies out of their litter.and you can see the trap door as well... I used moutain laurel limbs for the roost pole to give more natural feel. I also used a 6 inch riversand base to make clean up easier and to create a giant dust bath.
Well thats my coop i hope to one day accommodate up to 15 hens. Feel free to ask questions and/ or give comments

I read several places in this forum that the roost must be wide enough for their feet to rest comfortably and they squat down on roost and cover their feet with their feathers . They suggesting using 2x4's or wider
