This is Goonie , my former scovie drake. He used to come in the house and play with the dog, jump on the back of the couch, or chill on the fireplace.

Wait till Lovesduckies see's this. She has a few indoor ducks. Or at least she used to keep her drake and hen in the house when she just had the two of them. He drake is such a sweetie pie.

As far as color - I want to say choco pied but it might turn out to be a black pied, i havent had many colored ducklings hatch so im not very good with colors =/

So I'm getting my boys shoes for Christmas (ssshhhh) but I have a question about the diapers. How often would you have to change them? Now before anyone chimes in...I realize that it's going to depend on how frequently "deposits" are being made. But could you give me an idea?

When i had Goon in the house i had to change his diaper out once an hour at least because he had suchstinky deposits. But my smaller ducks i only had to change out theirs once every 2 hours. three hours if no one had made a bad stinky.

Aww, goonie is so pretty, especially in the pic with the window! I'm glad to know there are handsome muscovy drakes - maybe a drake wouldnt be so bad after all. Whenever I thought of a drake, I would think of one of these pics from feathersite:

Of course _I_ would still love him, but I'd be worried my friends wouldn't want to pet him or let him in their house haha.

I have already been investigating the diaper issue, and I'm excited to get a harness from Nettie, the only problem is that there are 1000 colors and it will pain me to have to decide on one. I'm torn between "Wildflower sun", "Blue narrow stairs", "very cherry", and "zebra". Dont even get me started on the holiday stuff that is on there now.

Yeah, some muscovy drakes do have faces with character. Not all of them have such elaborate carnuncles, though. In some shows, males are deliberately bread to have such outlandish, swollen faces that they can't even see.

Someone posted the other day that the bead at the end of the nose gives a clue about color. Looks like he's going to be pretty light.
