Back in late March I ordered my first ducks ever,
1 Black Swedish hen
1 Khaki Campbell hen
1 Welsh Harlequin hen
1 Welsh Harlequin drake
They should ship on May 2nd and I will post updates and photos on here to satisfy the need for baby floofballs. I can't wait! I have Everything I need ready, brooder bin, heat lamp, fresh bulb, waterer, chick starter grower, nutritional yeast, and probably a bunch of other stuff that I don't need but got anyways. Now all I need is the ducklings.

Mildly worried since they are shipping from California to Georgia but fingers crossed that they all arrive safe. If not I'll probably go to TSC to buy a replacement duckling, and probably a couple extra.
I am in Georgia too and I received all my duck eggs from Metzer farms and an extra in perfect condition. They hatched into exquisite ducks too. Good luck!

Thanks! That reassures me, I've heard they are a really good hatchery and I prefer ordering from smaller hatcheries instead of the bigger more known ones because they tend to have better birds. I liked that they have a video of their breeding stock because then you have a better idea of what you're getting.

Metzer is about to open their Memphis location so hopefully yours will ship from here instead 😃. I would not recommend getting ducklings from tractor supply because they buy from a hatchery that sells sexed ducklings. As a result, I think it is more likely that the Khakis and Welsh Harlequins and other egg laying types that are left over and sent to Tractor Supply are more likely to be drakes. So, unless you want lots of drakes, I would be cautious.

They finished it?! I thought they hadn't? I was thinking of getting a couple Pekins from TSC.

I bought 3 ducks from TSC last year.... all drakes!!!! So I think you’re on to something.

You’re gonna love ducks! They’re so fun and have delicious eggs! And yes we need lots of pictures!
