I’ve got 5 chicks that are about 7-8 weeks old that got put in the coop tonight. I’ve also got 3 babies that are about 3-4 weeks old. How will I go about introducing them when it’s time?

The best way is to put them in a penned place in the coop where they can roam around each other and see each other but so the larger birds can’t get to them just yet. After about a week or two of that you can put them in together and minus the occasional leader fight they should be okay.

I don’t really have a way to separate them in the coop/run where everyone is safe and secure. I can’t let them free range as we have a large number of predatory birds, (hawks and owls). I’ll try to attach a pic of the coop that we have built, it isn’t fully complete, still have trimming to complete.
