My new horse!

Yep....Bob's trainer is one of those. Bob made trips to the beach, trails, etc ..... he was one of her favorites for pleasure riding....and he was the "babysitter" for the yearlings in their pasture.
That’s amazing! I didn’t know that trainers would do that. He sounds like a sweetie, Storm is an angle around people, but was born to the boss mare so therefor, he wants to be boss man. He and his half brother nearly tore each others apart they fought so much. No major injuries thank goodness but Storm looked like he had mange on his neck and ripped several of his brothers blankets. They’re such a loving family lol.

My sweet mare is here! She was in the trailer for over four hours. I figured she would want to exercise a bit on getting here so we turned her into the arena. She found a hay net and settled down to eat. After the seller left I took her out on a halter and walked her for a ways. She enjoyed grazing on the clover by the road, moved ahead when I asked and stopped when I let her. Took her back to the arena and she had a big drink and got back to the hay. She is so sweet!

Still don’t know her name!

Awww..... Sweet girl....

Have you been out on the trail yet?

Or are you still letting her adjust.

deb

I’m letting her adjust. Also she is completely ignorant of a lunge line.

And I’m going through saddle, saddle pad and cinch buying. I got my dream saddle from Craigslist! A Tucker Equitation Endurance for $900. Really lightly used!

Isnt it amazing how much you can find out from the ground.... Longing should be the first thing ....

I had my colt longing at about six months... just walking... being careful of them baby joints.... Had a bareback pad on him too... wasnt fazed.... took him on trail rides with a long soft rope to keep him in line... Too much barbed wire around from the cattle days... He was a goof.... took off one time and almost pulled me off my mare.... we crossed water and went through rocks in a creek bed... Momma was an excellent trail horse she taught him oh soo much.

Do you have a round pen?

We have an unassembled round pen. But yes this would be wonderful. Right now we’re having her just follow us around on a line. She’s willing, she just doesn’t know. Thank goodness my barn helper know what to do and handles her perfectly. I’ve been sick but Kota gets worked every day.
