(P.S- I love your Bantam Cochin Rooster! He is just Gorgeous!)

I will be incubating some of my own eggs soon too. I will be so nervous but I can't wait. Can't wait to see pictures of yours

I can't wait to see pictures!

I would name a magical egger a magical name!
Hermione (from Harry Potter)
or
Arwen Evenstar (from LotR)

LOL sorry. My nerd is coming out!

Most of my girls are named after Disney princesses or other cartoon characters... besides the one's my kids named (Omelet, Peep). We also had a wonderful Sultan named Lady GaGa but she lost her life to a hawk. She was an amazing girl!

Cochins are originally from China so maybe Mulan!

Though Blackberry or Olivia will be great too!

About introducing her into the flock.... what I did was put my youngsters in a small tractor coop right next to the main coop so they would see each other a lot. After about a week of seeing each other, I would let them free range together, never leaving them. Then one night, when everyone was settled for bed, I moved the newbies into the main coop and they woke up as family. I ran out early the next day to check on them and they were all just fine! You just have to judge it by how they are doing together free ranging.

Congratulations on your new addition!

I just opened a couple of pics of the Silkies and my (almost) 2 yr olds exclaimed "Meow Chickies!" Apparently she thinks they look like a cat chicken crossbreed!
