So, I am going to be ordering 15 Cornish Rock X to raise to stock our family freezer, I am also getting 5-10 Rhode Island Reds to add to our laying flock. I was in a delimma as to what type of setup I would need to brood all of these babies. I happened to spot an old Rubbermaid storage shed we no longer use. I think it will work just fine. Let me know what you think! Pics below!

I think it looks great! As long as their is good ventilation I think they will do just fine in there. There is nothing better than making use of old stuff laying around the house.

I am by no means an expert but my only concern besides ventilaton would be the heat lamp melting the plastic.

Have fun!

Unless you're using some kind of sunlamp that burns at several hundred degrees, I think your brooder is fine.

I use a rubbermaid plastic tub that is much thinner plastic and a 90w bulb and the plastic is warm--but not hot at all. Never had any kind of issue with heat, yet the chicks are cozy warm inside.
