Ok that is what the guys at TSC insisted they were. I asked one guy, who asked another guy, second guy says, Oh they are just your regular wild Mallards. Yeah, ok, whatever. I said, no they are not. I picked my two and 6 chicks and headed to the register. Told them there that the ducklings they have are Khaki Campbells, not Mallards. They just looked at me like they didn't really give a crap, grrrrr. Is it really soooo much work to write a name on a piece of paper and tape it to the bin? Instead of just telling everyone they are the only duck breed you can think of!

Anyways, on to the pics of my Mallards LoL

I came home to double check on KC pics just to make sure I was right. I tried to look through them and pick two that looked different coloring wise. I am hoping for a pair.

It is frustrating at the farm supply stores and feeds stores around here as well. The staff is only trained to pick them up, put them in a box and write the quantity and price on the outside and at times that is extremely challanging for them. They had one girl in the department last Saturday who was deathly afraid of them every time the chicks jumped she jerked her arm back so fast you would have thought she was going to pull it out of its socket. The farm stores/feed stores only do this as a profit venture (the bags of feed, feeders, waterers, etc were flying out of the store on Saturday) and your right the staff could care less what breed any poultry they have is. To most of them a duck is a duck and a chicken is a chicken and don't even get me started on them not being able to tell the difference between a duck and goose. Last year the guy tried to sell me geese when I saw no ducks and asked if they were going to get more ducks. He looked at me with this dumb look and pointed to the two stock tanks with geese and said "we have all kinds of ducks there in those two tanks".

I turned to walk away so as not to be rude but I thought no and turned around and said "young man for your information those are geese (then I pointed to the poultry books they had next to the poultry) I suggest on your break you read a few of these" and walked away.

Good for you! I am so sick of people putting up with stupid just because the people don't get paid that much...stupid is just that, stupid. Anyone is capable of asking questions about what they see every day. They need to tear their eyes away from their personal electronics for a minute and find out what is in the world around them, especially at work.

Did you know at my local TSC they have KC that are gray with a yellow chest(blue swedish) and that those are the females and then the solid black (cayuga) are the male KC. Yeah...they're that dumb. I argued with the guy, but then let it go. The hatchery told them that is what they were sending was KC, but well that's just not what they had. They had cayuga, blue swedish, and mallards. Oh and the other TSC in the next town over had "pecan ducks" (Pekin) I get educated every time I go there
