Many thanks for your comments about "Boss" - he was one unique goose ( as is Scooter a duck to us ).....

All I can say is that I am so very, very happy for you, Scooter is alive somewhere and she will come home - your chicks are very cute - love their home too.... my other half has gone, deaf, dumb and blind since I mentioned how clever your husband is!!!!

I think of you and Scooter every day ( without fail ) and she will come home to you....

Suzie

p.s. It is incredible to see the difference in such a few days as to how the chicks progress - by the way I love the names you have given them so far

I am so glad you got those new ducklings they are so pretty ,like other people have said they wont replace Scooter because she dosent need to be replaced she will be home

.In the mean time they will give you something to keep your mind occupied with while you wait.Between you and Suzie I am starting to think that I might like to get some Scovies

but at the moment I have 14 fertile call duck eggs under a B.O. broody and my nerves are gone because everyone says they are so hard to hatch and they are only on day 8

Oh if you ever get a chance to get some Scovies, go for it!! They're sooooooooo different, much more mellow and friendly. These 6 babies spent their first week out on a pond and under a barn with their duck Mamma and within just a few days here with me they would come running when they hear my voice, if I stick my hand down in the brooder they all pile into it and sing...just tickles the daylights out of me. I love all of my ducks but must say that the scovies are my favorite by far. Congrats on your Broody Gal and eggs.....I'll keep my fingers crossed too!!
