This is Mohawk, first time I have ever named a chick.

And the only brown one that looked like mama from the beginning.

This is a link that tells their story. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=177564

The roos that are possible daddies are Welsummer, White crested black Polish, and Cuckoo Marans.

Thanks, they are so ugly they are cute. There are more mohawks in there now, so the only way I know the one I named is that it is taller.

They grow so fast!

Really great pics! I have 4 with mohawks too...they are so funny and about the same age as yours. I should try and take some pics...they are definitely going through an awkward ugly stage.

I was wondering where the mohawk comes from but I think it must mean they are part polish...i have a white crested black polish rooster too so that might be it!

They started out black, but their head feathers have turned dark brown, with the black mohawks. With my luck, they will all be roos, lol.

Would love to see your chicks, post them here.

When I looked at the pics I took, I thought omg they look like Turkens or naked necks! But they just have really close fitting feathers on their heads and necks, dark brown. If I could figure out what my mama hens are, and look at the roos of that breed, they will probably look like them.
