My new peahen got away....

The honking could be calling out for their friends.. did they come from a large flock? When to let loose depends on age, bird a year and younger are the easiest.. fully mature birds are the hardest, especially males that came from a flock with peahens and there are no peahens in your yard.. do you know of or can hear other peafowl? If there are others within hearing range, it would be best if you could get a couple females or keep the two in a large pen for a very long time(months, if they are fully grown).

If you let them out.. let only one out at a time, so the other one can act as a call-back. Important not to shove or chase it out... and also make sure nothing chases or spooks it the first few days loose.
