Here is another pic of one of my snakes. I will take the snake out of its aquarium tomorrow and take another pic so you can see it. It really is beautiful and impressive.

Anyone have a guess what kind this one is? This snake is non aggressive as long as you move slowly around it.

It has some beautiful patterns on it but hard to tell from the pic. You will enjoy the pics I get tomorrow much better.

Right on, you guessed it. Compared to my puff adder which has an extremly bad attitude the gaboom is layed back to be as deadly as it is. My SO, he is called Snakeman for ovious reasons handles the gaboom bare handed all the time. I have tons of video of him doing this.

You can only imagine how often we get visited especially this time of year with people we have never met wanting to see some snakes. Snakeman never disappoints them either. He will put on an awesome show for our curious guest.

Before I got sick we did shows at different places that invited us. We try and educate people, get them away from all the false things they have been told and beleive about snakes. We show people that you really have to go out of your way to get bit. Also that if you happened to mess with or maybe step on a snake you could get bit.

We call it educating people one person at a time. The kids really enjoy learning and they pay attension to everything you say and can answer any question when asked afterwards.

I will be uploading new pics in a few.

Here is a better pic of the Gaboom. The pic was taken on my office desk. Doesn't everybody have a Gaboom viper on there desk.

No really, the snake was in a frisky mood today so I wasn't able to get as close for the pics as I had wanted to. The Gabooms have horns which are totally cool and make the snake look evil in a way.

The colors and patterns are awesome on this snake. Its hard to tell from the pics but this snake is very thick. You can tell it hasn't missed any meals.

If you look closely in the pic you can sorta see the horns.

Luvmychicknkids- The next time the gaboom sheds its skin in one peice I could send it to your son if you want. What Snakeman does is very carefully turns the skin back in side out and you will be able to see where the skin shed over the horns. Just let me know.

I have another snake I would like to show you guys. I will have to get the pics tonight. This snake comes from the states and is rare to find in the wild.

Oh my!!!! That is so sweet of you!!!! Thank you!!! I just read that to my son and he is squealing and bouncing up and down. He would absolutely love that!!! His bedroom is decorated with skulls, all the sheds from his two Ball Pythons, and any not so gross dead stuff he can get (large insects, his now deceased scorpion, etc) so it would be a perfect (and much loved) addition!!!

I can also offer the shedded skins off any of my other snakes too. Just any one he would be interested in. I want tell what all else I have yet, well not until I get some pics posted anyway. Snakeman does this for lots of kids. I can also offer something else I bet your son would love listening to you describe of his room. Shedded fangs from the different snakes. We have almost as many adults collect these from us as we do kids. Run that idea by him. I'll let you know what we collect first and send it on its way to yall.

I worked for several years at the SC Aquarium as an educator. We never handled venomous snakes, of course, but I've definitely made it my mission in life to convince people that snakes are not demons out to eat you alive! Two months ago I went on a "swamp stomp" with one of my best friends. We went to a local blackwater swamp and took a guided tour to their largest cypress tree. You have to wade through waist-deep water to get there. It was AWESOME! I invited all my other friends, and most of them said, "you're going INTO the water? With the snakes and gators? No thanks!" I'll admit I was a little leary of the ubiquitous cottonmouths we have in the swamps here, but I knew it was still going to be too cold to encounter one. The cold water ended up freaking me out a lot more than the wildlife, and the only injuries I sustained were from the stupid blackberry vines that I couldn't see under the water (recent rains flooded even high areas). So yes, I did come out a little scratched up, but bite-free!

Didn't find any herps, but I'm a nut for spiders. Here's a nice lycosidae, definitely one of my favorites.

I haven't gone herping in a long time, but the weather is just right, I might have to take a few walks and see what I can find (and bring the camera!).
